Training

One of the main goals of the Center is providing education on all manner of subjects relating to the crime mapping; urban design and planning for neighborhoods and communities; and Safe by Design and socially sustainable communities.  In particular, classes and training are geared towards police, architects, urban planners, and others involved in the design, planning and policing of the built environment.  These classes range in length from 3-5 days and can be provided either at EKU or on-site for agencies wanting to avoid travel.  Examples of classes include:

  • Introduction to Crime and Communities for Planners and Architects
